In plain language

What this means for job seekers

  1. About 10% of open jobs were posted in the last week. Most of what you see on any given day has been open longer, so new postings are where your application is most likely to be seen early.
  2. Healthcare & Clinical had the most new postings (8,954). If your skills carry over, it is a good week to look there, along with Sales.
  3. 28% of open listings show pay, and new postings are more likely to (33%). When a listing doesn't show pay, it's fair to ask for the range before an interview.
  4. Remote work is a small slice: 4.3% of open jobs are fully remote and 3.5% are hybrid. Searching close to home still opens up the most options.
  5. California led the states in new postings (7,083). Check your own state's page to see which local employers are hiring.

How this report is made

LandMe collects open jobs directly from employers' own career sites and applicant tracking systems, not from other job boards. This report counts open jobs with a known U.S. state as of October 12, 2026. “New” means the employer posted the job in the 7 days before that date and it was still open. About 10% of open jobs were new this week. Pay counts listings where the employer shows pay. “Fully remote” and “hybrid” follow how the employer lists the job. Employer counts leave out staffing agencies; national totals include them. The report is updated weekly.
